Temporary import and export
Foreign nationals, as well as Croatian citizens with a usual residence in third countries, may, with the full exemption from import duties, temporarily import (with the obligation to export again) various items for their use for their personal needs, as well as the needs of family members during their stay in the EU.
Likewise, EU residents may temporarily export the goods they need during their stay in third countries.
Foreign nationals, as well as Croatian nationals with usual residence in third countries, may, with full relief from import duties, temporarily enter (with obligation to re-issue) various items for their use for their personal needs as well as the needs of family members during their stay in the EU.
Similarly, persons resident in the EU may temporarily provide the items they need during their stay in third countries.
Personal belongings of travellers include all items, new or used, which the traveller may reasonably need for personal use during the journey, considering all the circumstances of the journey, but excluding all merchandise imported for commercial purposes. Personal belongings include video cameras, portable TV sets and audio devices, photo cameras, notebooks, laptop computers, camping, sailing, scuba diving, skiing, skating, and hiking equipment, caravans, leisure boats, portable medical devices with accessories (if the traveller needs them) and the like.
The import of these goods shall be done without special customs formalities with an oral declaration at the border crossing. The export of the aforesaid goods shall be done in the same way.
