ATC Bregana
The Advanced Training Centre in Bregana represents one of the key infrastructural and professional steps in strengthening the integrated border management system of the Republic of Croatia. Located at the former Bregana border crossing point, the Centre was established as a platform of the Ministry of Finance for the implementation of modern and advanced training programmes for customs, border guards and police officers. Its establishment confirms the continuous commitment to modernise training and competence models in accordance with European standards.
In addition to theoretical classes, the Centre also conducts advanced practical training aimed at developing operational skills of officials in real and simulated conditions. Special emphasis was placed on the improvement of methods and techniques of inspection and search of means of transport and and recent method of concealment. The training programmes include advanced knowledge in the detection and combating of smuggling of various types of goods, including illicit drugs, medicines, cross border cash control, counterfeit money, tobacco products, counterfeit merchandise, weapons, and hazardous substances. The Centre is designed as a regional centre of excellence that will further strengthen the security of borders and financial interests of the Republic of Croatia and the European Union. The training will be carried out in cooperation with international customs, border guards, police and other law enforcement authorities, further boosting cross-border and inter-agency cooperation.
