Focus on effective enforcement of regulations and combating illegal trade.

On Wednesday, 22 April 2026, at the Advanced Training Centre in Bregana, a professional training was held on the topic of cooperation in the implementation of the fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) trading regulations.

F-gases are a group of gases that contain fluorine and have the global warming potential that is multiple times greater than that of carbon dioxide (CO₂), which is why they pose a significant challenge in environmental protection. Their production, trading and use are strictly regulated by the EU and Croatian regulations.

The training was organised as a result of many years of cooperation between the Ministry of Finance, Customs Administration and the Embassy of the United States of America in the Republic of Croatia. Along with representatives of the Customs Administration, the training was attended by representatives of customs administrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia.

The aim of the training was to share experiences and best practices between participants, analyse current challenges and improve knowledge and capacity in effectively combating illicit trade in F-gases.
